About Ooglidcheck

Ooglidcheck (Dutch for "eyelid check") was founded with one goal: that everyone with questions about drooping upper eyelids can get an honest, expert answer, without barriers and without a sales pitch.

The platform is an initiative of Looks Clinics, a clinic fully dedicated to upper eyelid surgery, with locations in Zwolle and Amsterdam in the Netherlands. That specialisation is deliberate: doing the same thing every day makes you very good at it. We bring that same focus to the assessment beforehand.

Clarity first, treatment later

Our conviction is simple. Treatment is only worthwhile when the diagnosis is right and the expectations are realistic. That is why the order on this platform is always: understand first, then assess, and only then, possibly, treat. The self-test and the photo assessment are free of charge. If you are not a good candidate, or if your complaints appear to have a different cause, you will simply be told.

Who assesses your situation?

Every photo assessment and every video consultation is carried out personally by a BIG-registered eyelid specialist of Looks Clinics. BIG is the official register of healthcare professionals in the Netherlands. No algorithm takes part in the judgement: we use technology only to check whether photos are usable. Looks Clinics operates under the Dutch Healthcare Quality Act (Wkkgz) and has an independent complaints procedure; remote assessments are recorded under the rules for medical records.

Where we are heading

Ooglidcheck aims to become the place where the Netherlands asks its questions about upper eyelids. The knowledge base grows every month, based on the questions we hear in practice. In time we want to connect more specialised physicians to the platform, so assessments always remain fast and expert.

Transparency

Ooglidcheck is an initiative of Looks Clinics. We do not present ourselves as a comparison site or an independent party: when you are a suitable candidate, the assessment leads to Looks Clinics. What you can expect from us is not neutrality, but honesty. In our view, that is the better promise.
